If you’re curious about Databricks – they offer a Free Trial and a Community Edition. In this post I’ll cover the signup for Community Edition. This one is free and doesn’t incur any AWS Costs but does have limitations. You can get a lot more details in their FAQ.
To get started head over to the main Databricks page and press the red Try Databricks button
Fill in your details
and to get the free Community edition make sure you scroll down and select Get started with Community Edition rather than Continue.
Wait for the confirmation and finish signing up your account. For me the confirmation took awhile so I thought I must have done something wrong. You can easily confirm that as it won’t let you sign up a 2nd time.
