So youβre a Virtual Earth Developer, busy times, why would you want to sit an exam on it? I sat the beta exam last year and although caught out a little by the MapPoint Web services questions got a reasonable score.
The whole process makes you look at all aspects of the product not just the bits you have used in projects or mashups. It gives you a more rounded understanding of the platform.
By passing the exam you qualify to become a Microsoft Certified Professional, a Certified Technology Specialist in Virtual Earth.
You get a nifty certificate, maybe not signed by Bill Gates I guess, and a nice logo for your web site:
Better still you get 2 points for your company in the Microsoft Partner Program. Get you buddy to pass us well as your company qualifies for the Data Visualisation Specialist competency when combined with 3 client references of the Virtual Earth projects you have built recently. All this can set you up to be Microsoft Certified Partner and you get another logo and a Partner contact at Microsoft π
And then you can start publishing your commercial offerings to the Partner site and be featured on the Virtual Earth site:

So have I convinced you to go book the exam yet? You will learn more, get more skills and improve your companies profile and business opportunities. So sit down with your boss at get some quality time to study and go pass that exam. I want to see more then 19 people in this table next I look π
